NeuralTrust today announced its official sponsorship of the OWASP GenAI Security Project, reinforcing its long-term commitment to advancing open, community-driven standards for securing generative and agentic AI systems.

As organizations accelerate the deployment of large language models and autonomous AI agents into production environments, the security landscape is undergoing a profound shift. Traditional application security models are no longer sufficient to address the dynamic behaviors, tool usage, and decision-making capabilities introduced by agentic AI. The OWASP GenAI Security Project was created to help the industry navigate this transition by establishing shared security frameworks, threat models, and practical guidance.

From its earliest stages, NeuralTrust’s engineering and research teams have actively contributed to this effort. Working closely with the OWASP community, NeuralTrust has helped identify and document emerging attack patterns, contributed new attack variations specific to generative and agent-based systems, and published research aimed at translating theoretical risks into actionable security practices.

“Agentic AI fundamentally changes how systems behave, interact, and fail,” said Joan Vendrell, CEO at NeuralTrust. “As these systems gain autonomy, security can no longer be an afterthought. Supporting the OWASP GenAI Security Project aligns directly with our belief that AI must be secure by design, observable in production, and governed by shared, open standards.”

NeuralTrust also took part in the OWASP® Foundation Agentic AI Security Summit Europe on 10 December, where OWASP officially launched the OWASP Top 10 for Agentic AI Security. This new industry reference highlights the most critical risks facing autonomous, tool-using AI systems and provides a common language for security teams, developers, and decision-makers navigating agent-based architectures.

The launch of the Top 10 comes at a pivotal moment. As AI agents move beyond experimentation into real-world use cases across industries such as finance, telecommunications, healthcare, and professional services, organizations are increasingly exposed to new categories of risk, including unintended actions, privilege escalation, prompt and tool misuse, data leakage, and complex multi-step failure modes.

By sponsoring and contributing to the OWASP GenAI Security Project, NeuralTrust aims to support the broader security community in building a shared foundation for understanding and mitigating these risks. The company views open collaboration as essential to ensuring that innovation in AI is matched by equally strong advances in security, governance, and trust.
